If you are using automatic transmission then you are not going to get to higher gears most of the time and that is not ideal for drifting. If you really want to drift a 4-wheel-drive car then there is a way of doing that but it can vary from car to car. They stick to the road and that is why we recommend using rear-wheel-drive cars for drifting in Forza Horizon 4. Drifting All-Wheel-Drive CarsĪll-wheel-drive cars have a lot of traction and are not ideal for drifting. You will get used to it over time and you will become accustomed to what the car is doing and where it is headed. If you feel that things are getting out of hand then you can let go of the throttle and the car will regain traction. Use as little power as possible to keep things under control. If your car is very powerful then you can stick to the outer part of the turn, pull the E-brake, counter-steer, control the drift and feather the throttle to continue drifting. If that is happening to you then chances are that you are trying to go too fast. The car will let you know when you are going too fast and everything is going to fall apart. You can do this at around 50 MPH if you are getting started. What you need to do is enter the turn with the right line and pull the E-brake. You can do this a couple of times and then try the same while using the throttle as well. This will give you an idea of the traction. You can figure this out by entering into a turn and pulling the E-brake and letting go of the throttle. You need to have a proper entry into the turn in order for the rest of the drift to work. When it comes to using the E-brake, the entry is key. Doing so will help you in the long run when you have access to cars that are more powerful. Try to use as little throttle as you can in the beginning so that you can focus on controlling the drift. The effects will be different depending on the car that you have. Once you are used to it try doing the same in third gear. While it is important for the car to have ample power, do not neglect counter-steering as this is one of the most common mistakes that new players make when drifting for the first time. with enough time and practice, you should be able to master drifting in Forza Horizon 4. This is a common thing for beginners and will take time and practice to get used to.
